Real Solutions to Real Problems - Connecting Earth Observation to the Protection of Biodiversity

On-Demand Webinar

The Copernicus satellites have created massive socio-economic benefits, catalysed by making their data open. The programme has become a key global public good with the EU leading the world in Earth Observation. Now, NewSpace companies are producing vast new and complementary Earth Observation data sets transforming frequency of high-resolution data with myriad societal benefits, none more critical than in the Commission’s top two priority areas: the Green Deal and digital transformation.

Frequent, high quality images of the Earth can facilitate the tracking of biodiversity loss and damage to our ecosystems. As the EU embarks on its climate mission, these images can provide useful insights to find a balance between the interests and needs of citizens and health of nature’s resources.
