Join Planet, the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS), and NASA as we examine and discuss the prominent impact commercial satellite imagery has recently had in uncovering events and developments in geopolitics, the environment, and human rights. Speakers include:
Dave Schmerler from Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS) will discuss how commercial remote sensing data is being used to advance U.S. national security interests in North Korea, Crimea, and Iran.
Chris Shuman from UMBC, Matt Hansen from the University of Maryland, and Rajashree Tri Datta from the University of Maryland, will highlight a series of examples that use commercial geospatial data to study our evolving planet.
Zara Khan from Planet will demonstrate how Planet imagery is being used to monitor recent natural disasters in the United States.
